Head of IPT-Omics Platform
The Platform is a specialized structure belonging to the Institut Pasteur, labeled IPT’OMICS. This structure combines a set of high-speed technologies to support projects in Genomics, Proteomics, imaging, and bioinformatics analyses.
The mission of IPT’OMICS is to facilitate and accelerate the scientific discovery of research teams.
IPT’OMICS also works for non-pastoral research teams and with the private sector.
IPT’OMICS accepts both service and collaboration projects.
IPT’OMICS experts work to ensure fast and efficient processing of all samples and requests.

The IPT-Omics Platform Facility is the C2RT structure at the Institut Pasteur de Tunis, dedicated to Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). Founded in 2012, the platform is ISO 9001 certified, ensuring high-quality standards in its operations. It integrates both short- and long-read sequencing technologies, following international guidelines and best practices.
We are equipped with both a wet lab for sample processing and sequencing and a dry lab for bioinformatics analysis. This integrated infrastructure allows us to provide end-to-end NGS solutions, from nucleic acid extraction to advanced data interpretation.
To support scientific discovery within the Institut Pasteur de Tunis, its network, and academic research institutions. The platform welcomes both service-based and collaborative projects. We work closely with our bioinformatics teams and IT services to ensure secure data analysis, management, and storage.

The Support-Lab group of Biomics is composed of the platform manager, an executive assistant, logistics technicians, a quality correspondent, and a cross-functional project manager. This group is responsible for support activities such as communication, invoicing, and the management of the quality system by ISO 9001 standards.
The group also oversees the outsourcing of high-throughput sequencing projects.
Additionally, Support-Lab coordinates European and international consortia, as well as capacity-building programs in sequencing with the Institut Pasteur Tunis.
Through its various functions, the Support group handles ethical, regulatory, financial, logistical, and managerial matters, working continuously in coordination with the institution's different support departments.
